Colours and shapes need to be in harmony with a rooms energies to make it feel good.

Each colour and each shape belong to a particular Feng Shui element. For example, greens belong to the Wood element, triangles and red tones are Fire, brown timber furniture is Earth, spheres are Metal, and so forth. The way we bring desired elements into a room is through furnishings, objects and artwork – or painting walls if desired.

Each of the 8 compass areas inherently – through the unique energy chart of the home, contain certain Feng Shui elements. Further, they contain either positive or negative Feng Shui energies, or a mixture of both. The colours and shapes that make a room feel good are those that are in harmony with the subtle energies of the room and that enhance existing positive potentials.

Enhance positive & reduce negative energies

In selecting the colour schemes for a room, our aim is to enhance the positive energies present there and to drain or diminish negative energies. We can bring in colours through tiles, pictures, carpets, walls and soft furnishings – an easy option for bringing needed colours into a room.

You may have ideas of painting or decorating a room in certain colours. While this may look good in a magazine, it won’t work if the underlying energies of the relevant room are in conflict with these colours. For example we have had to turn the red tones of an elegantly designed living room into a grey and white theme to feel good – or it may be the other way round. Colours and shapes for a room are unique.

If colours are wrong, a room’s decor is in disharmony. It won’t feel good nor be as comfortable as it could be, and you are more likely to experience irritation and disharmony. Wrong colour schemes can inadvertently activate negative energies.

Tiny Soulspaces

Tiny Soulspaces

I had explored the idea of tiny houses for a while but had found many quite constrained, often with linearly aligned functions akin to being on a railway platform. I wanted to achieve an overall sense of space, as well as a series of functionally distinct areas that could contain each activity without feeling constrained within it.
