Most of us don’t have such luxury, but the next step from that is to select a building design that fits your block using Feng Shui principles. To do this, we consider the influences of both Forms (the physical features) and Energies (responsible for the feel).
Even within new suburban developments, we can choose whether to build on an East, North, West or South facing block, etc. Once we’ve got the block, we use a Feng Shui energy analysis to make the most of its potential.
We start with a selection of plans you have in mind. For each one, we work out its energy distribution, which is determined by its compass orientation. For example, here is the chart for a North facing home. The numbers represent the different energy potentials.
In this scenario, there would be very negative energy (#2 is the sickness energy) in the front bedroom. I have seen many cases of this sort of energy causing, at times severe, sickness in the long run – the sort of thing we can avoid with right Feng Shui Design.
In this case, we have two main choices: If the family wanted to stick to their chosen plan, I would get them to flip it (so that garage would be to the right of the entrance). That way, the negative energy would be in the garage and the couple would have nice energy to sleep in.
Or we could consider a different design, one with the master bedroom at the back towards the right. This would be an excellent bedroom, tapping into the best energies for sleep and wellbeing. Likewise, we’d make sure that the other bedrooms would be fine – which sometimes involves shifting some internal walls or doorways. We also make sure that radiant energy can enter the home and living areas.
Feng Shui can be as simple as choosing the right design for a block, flipping an existing design or making simple modifications to a plan – or it can mean designing a home from scratch. In that case, we provide, for your specific block, a blueprint for the ideal location for each activity and family member, and work with your architect or designer to translate that into a doable solution.
After the overall structure is right, we then choose colour schemes and placement that enhance its positive potential further.
As you can see, the real power of Feng Shui is in the design. This is where you can make sure that the Feng Shui of your home will be great and that you have avoided any potentially negative outcomes.
Feng Shui design will give you a home that not just looks good, but also feels right.
